Atlantic Flight Academy’s Simnest A320 FNPT II MCC achieves qualification in Türkiye with zero findings
Atlantic Flight Academy has secured qualification approval from the Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation for its newly installed Simnest A320 FNPT II MCC simulator, following an evaluation conducted in late October 2026 that concluded with zero findings. The certification represents a key milestone for both organizations, strengthening AFA’s advanced airline pilot training portfolio while marking Simnest Aviation’s debut simulator installation in Türkiye, where it will also serve as a regional showcase and demonstration platform.
The achievement follows a rapid collaboration between the two companies. Less than a year ago, AFA and Simnest signed a Memorandum of Understanding at EATS 2025, followed by a purchase agreement in December and the simulator’s installation at AFA’s Istanbul training center in August 2026.
Designed to deliver a high-fidelity, type-specific Airbus A320 training environment, the FNPT II MCC simulator will play a central role in AFA’s APS MCC training programs, while also supporting selected stages of the academy’s airline-focused Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) courses.
Erkan Akçay, CEO of Atlantic Flight Academy commented: “Achieving qualification with no findings reinforces our decision to choose Simnest Aviation as our partner. We were looking for more than a simulator supplier: we needed a team that understands the demands of professional pilot training and can deliver on its commitments. The qualification result reflects both the quality of the device and the successful cooperation between our teams.”
Capt. Gyula Kühtreiber, CEO of Simnest Group stated: “The qualification result speaks for itself. For us, the significance of this project goes well beyond a successful delivery. Together with AFA, we are establishing a regional demonstration platform where prospective customers can experience our technology in a real training environment. This is an important step in strengthening Simnest Aviation’s presence beyond Europe and reaching new markets.”
The successful qualification of the A320 FNPT II MCC simulator marks a significant achievement for Atlantic Flight Academy and Simnest Aviation, less than a year after the companies announced their partnership at EATS 2025. As the collaboration continues to gain momentum, Simnest Aviation will showcase this success story at EATS 2026, where visitors can connect with the team at Booth 519 in Cascais, Portugal, on 4-5 November.
