ExecuJet MRO Services Australia successfully completed a major 20-year scheduled airframe inspection on an Indonesian-registered Embraer Legacy 600 at its Sydney facility, further demonstrating the company’s capability to deliver complex heavy maintenance services for operators across the Asia-Pacific region.

The 20-year inspection is among the most extensive maintenance events performed on the Legacy 600, requiring the removal of the landing gear and cabin interior to provide access to critical structural areas for detailed examination. Maintenance technicians conducted comprehensive direct visual inspections to evaluate the aircraft's structural integrity and identify any signs of fatigue.

During the course of the inspection, several defects requiring highly specialized repairs were identified. To address these findings, ExecuJet collaborated closely with Embraer and a network of specialist engineering partners, coordinating expertise and dedicated equipment from North America and Europe to ensure the successful completion of the project in Australia.

Once on site, the specialist team deployed a custom-engineered line-boring jig to restore the affected components with exceptional precision. The repair work required tolerances measured to within thousandths of an inch, demonstrating the high level of engineering expertise and international collaboration needed to resolve a complex structural issue identified during the heavy maintenance inspection.

ExecuJet MRO Services Australia is approved by Indonesia’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and performs approximately three heavy airframe maintenance checks annually on Indonesian-registered aircraft, reinforcing its position as a trusted maintenance provider for operators in the region.

Grant Ingall, Regional Vice President Australasia at ExecuJet MRO Services, commented: “Our customers value the level of access and transparency we provide throughout the maintenance process. Customers can visit the hangar to see their aircraft being worked on and speak directly to maintenance engineers and technicians working on their aircraft. If an unexpected defect is identified, being able to see and understand the issue firsthand can make the decision-making and approval process much more straightforward. We have built a strong relationship with the Indonesian business aviation community over a number of years. It goes beyond carrying out the maintenance itself. Having people who can communicate with customers in their own language, keep them informed and support them while they are here helps make what can be a complex maintenance event much easier to manage."

ExecuJet’s support for Indonesian operators is further strengthened by Indonesian-speaking members of its Australian team, providing customers with a familiar point of contact throughout their maintenance visit. ExecuJet expects further Indonesian aircraft to arrive at its Australian facilities for major maintenance over the coming months.
