Unifi Aviation, part of Unifi LLC, has strengthened its presence in Europe with the launch of Unifi Aviation Jersey, bringing premium aircraft detailing and cleaning services to business aviation operators using Gama Aviation’s Jersey FBO. Operating under its specialist Up and Away brand, the company will provide comprehensive interior and exterior aircraft cleaning, complementing Gama Aviation’s existing passenger and crew handling capabilities.

The new operation includes a dedicated office within the FBO and a team of experienced aircraft detailers available weekdays, with flexible scheduling and extended hours available to meet operator demand.

Stefan Murphy, CEO of Unifi Aviation UK, Ireland and Jersey commented: “Moving into the Channel Islands has been on our wish list for many years. Aircraft are subject to high salt conditions in and out of the Channel Islands, requiring regular exterior washing.  We will support the upper end of business/general aviation from Cirrus sized turboprops and jets right up to ultra long-range Gulfstream, Bombardier and Dassault business jets."

Corin Barker, FBO Manager, Jersey, at Gama Aviation stated: "Welcoming Unifi Aviation to our Jersey FBO gives our clients convenient access to specialist aircraft cleaning and detailing alongside the handling services our team already provides. For owners, operators and crews, being able to arrange aircraft care during their visit is a practical and valuable addition, helping them maintain the presentation of their aircraft and prepare for the next flight.”

Beyond business aviation, Unifi Aviation Jersey will provide aircraft cleaning and detailing services for regional carriers operating sports and ad hoc charter flights through the FBO. The launch further strengthens Unifi Aviation’s growing UK presence, where the company has significantly expanded its ground handling activities at major hubs including Heathrow and Gatwick. Its airline customer base includes British Airways, TUI, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and the recently added Etihad Airways.

Long collaboration between Unifi Aviation and Gama Aviation

The opening of Unifi Aviation Jersey further strengthens a partnership between Unifi Aviation and Gama Aviation that spans more than a decade, originating with Up and Away Aviation’s acquisition of AviaLogistics in 2015. Over the years, Unifi’s detailing business has grown into a major operation, now serving 21 airports and employing around 1,900 personnel. In 2025 alone, the company recruited an additional 400 team members across its aircraft detailing, ground handling and aviation security divisions.

The expansion into Jersey aligns with Gama Aviation’s ambitious development plans for the airport, including a substantial multi-million-pound investment in a new FBO facility next to its current base. Scheduled to break ground in 2027, the project will reinforce the company’s long-term presence in Jersey while elevating the level of service available to business aviation customers, flight crews and operators.
